<p>Let&#8217;s focus on the second part of it &#8211; &#8220;Here&#8217;s Where to Get Started&#8221;</p>
<p>I&#8217;m happy to announce a new page on newInternetOrder.com. It&#8217;s a &#8220;getting started page&#8221; &#8211; as in, how to get started with newInternetOrder.com and why would you even want to start in the first place.</p>
<p>In a (two) word, it&#8217;s a <strong>road sign</strong> pointing the way to the core content on this site.</p>
<p>But first&#8230;<span id="more-1921"></span></p>
<h2>Why did I even create it?</h2>
<p>Since we&#8217;re talking online business <strong>for normal people</strong> here, let me share one observation.</p>
<p>Maybe it&#8217;s just me, but I&#8217;m noticing more and more <strong>beginner advice</strong> online that would be in fact very difficult to apply for a starting entrepreneur who just happens to be a normal human being.</p>
<p>For instance, advice like &#8220;learn SEO if you want to get a good spot on Google,&#8221; &#8220;read the forums,&#8221; &#8220;spend days crafting your content,&#8221; &#8220;engage with the community by commenting on other sites&#8221; and so on.</p>
<p>Although these all sound <em>okay-ish</em>, considering the fact that most people start their online businesses as side projects, I can only say (quoting the classic), that:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Ain&#8217;t nobody got time fo&#8217; that!&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>If that&#8217;s not enough, there&#8217;s also the &#8220;create quality content&#8221; advice that&#8217;s in a league of its own. I honestly don&#8217;t know what the expression &#8220;quality content&#8221; means. Really, no joke. It is by far <strong>the most overused and meaningless phrase</strong> in online business and blogging.</p>
<p>Actually, whenever someone says that you need to &#8220;<em>create quality content,</em>&#8221; what they are actually saying is &#8220;<em>hey, I don&#8217;t have any real piece of advice for you, so let me just say that you should create quality content</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Finally, there&#8217;s also a lot of messed up advice and products circulating around the web. Things like:</p>
<ul>
<li>tips on how to create simple PDF products (which are crap 90% of the time and provide no value whatsoever),</li>
<li>advice on how to get rich with simple affiliate promotions,</li>
<li>tools that promise great rankings in Google when in fact all they do is spam,</li>
<li>or even educational products that promise to teach you how to build a profitable business overnight.</li>
</ul>
<p>None of the above is for normal people!</p>
<h2>The goal</h2>
<p>So, the goal I&#8217;m trying to achieve here at newInternetOrder.com is to take all this online entrepreneurship down to the basics and provide some actual advice for normal people. Again, normal people; not spammers, not felons, not big brands with massive budgets, not people with 48 hours a day of free time.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why I&#8217;ve been publishing all those resource/hub pages lately and that&#8217;s also why I&#8217;ve created this getting started page. Here it is finally:</p>

<p>Sure you are.</p>
<p>Everybody is.</p>
<p>You signed up maybe just to check out what they are doing and what methods they are using to bring new customers and maybe to even buy some stuff from them.</p>
<p>I actually have a completely separate email address just for receiving this sort of &#8220;quality newsletters&#8221; (they are nowhere near being quality, by the way), purely because there&#8217;s just so much stuff out there that giving them my primary email address <strong>would ruin me</strong> in days.</p>
<p>Anyway, there are times when I&#8217;m amazed at how certain marketing and selling methods get repeated over and over again, with yet another product launch. I mean, does this stuff still work?<span id="more-1917"></span></p>
<p>So today I just want to take a page from the internet marketer&#8217;s playbook and list the main elements of a <strong>proper guru product sell</strong>.</p>
<p>(By the way, don&#8217;t do this! The following information is for entertainment purposes only.)</p>
<h2>1. Information products only!</h2>
<p>Come on, this is just basic. Who would want to waste their time on creating anything of actual value and any tangible presence. PDF products are all you need. <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/inception-marketing/">Inception!</a></p>
<h2>2. Quote an exact amount of money</h2>
<p>For instance, if you&#8217;re selling a new &#8220;make money&#8221; product, make sure to quote an exact sum of money that you&#8217;ve made using the techniques you&#8217;re teaching inside the product. Say something like:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Find out how I made $13,567.23 in just two days by using these underground techniques.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>The idea is that for some reason, people are supposedly more likely to believe a marketing message if it quotes a specific amount. In practice, it just looks ridiculous.</p>
<h2>3. Use a lot of hype words</h2>
<p>Words like &#8220;<em>underground</em>&#8221; as in &#8220;<em>underground techniques</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Or &#8220;<em>push-button</em>&#8221; as in &#8220;<em>push-button solution</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Or &#8220;<em>blueprint</em>&#8221; as in &#8220;<em>your business launch blueprint</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Or &#8220;<em>under the radar</em>&#8221; as in &#8220;<em>stay under the radar of your competitors</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>The rule of thumb is: <strong>The more the better.</strong></p>
<h2>4. Stupid name for modules</h2>
<p>If your guru product has some modules as part of it, which it does, then don&#8217;t forget to give these modules some really corny names, like &#8220;Traffic Avalanche&#8221; or &#8220;Product Launch Conspiracy.&#8221;</p>
<p>I guess the main idea is that <strong>stupid things get noticed and stick</strong>.</p>
<h2>5. Say gurus are bad but you are cool</h2>
<p>This is something you absolutely must do because if you don&#8217;t, your prospective customers might get the impression that you are one of the bad guys.</p>
<p>By addressing this, you&#8217;re breaking down their guard and getting some instant credibility.</p>
<p>Of course, at the same time, do exactly the same thing every guru would do &#8211; promote your stuff with <strong>false promises and a lot of hype</strong>. <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/distraction-marketing/">Distraction!</a></p>
<h2>6. Make the sales video hours long</h2>
<p>This is becoming a rule in the online business world by now&#8230;but only for crappy products. For instance, when Apple wants to sell us their new iPhone, all they say is &#8220;<em>Here&#8217;s the new iPhone, go buy it!</em>&#8221; And they really need nothing else because we can already imagine that the product will be awesome.</p>
<p>When some internet marketing guru sells a product, they need at least 30 minutes of video to <strong>convince us that the product maybe kind of isn&#8217;t crap</strong>. You tell me, is this a healthy situation?</p>
<p>Oh, and by the way, say that you&#8217;re going to take the video down soon &#8230; and then totally never actually take it down.</p>
<h2>7. Promise a guarantee where people can keep the product</h2>
<p>Why? Because your product is crap anyway so why shouldn&#8217;t anyone be able to keep it even if they ask for a refund?</p>
<p>Let me use my Apple example again. Can you imagine asking for a refund after buying a new iPhone and being allowed to keep the device anyway? Hell no! Simply because the device has some actual value.</p>
<h2>8. Portray your product as being life-changing</h2>
<p>If it&#8217;s a &#8220;make money&#8221; product then just say something like:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Can you imagine just $2000 of additional income? This doesn&#8217;t seem like much but it can actually get your car payment and your rent handled. Imagine how great it would feel to never have to worry about your bills again.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Remember, you&#8217;re selling a new lifestyle not just a crappy information product PDF.</p>
<h2>9. Say that the price is low</h2>
<p>This is quite amazing. Every time I watch a sales video, the guy says that the price he asks for his product is low. No matter what it actually is.</p>
<p>If it&#8217;s $100, he will compare it to the amount of money you spend on beer every month. If it&#8217;s $500, he will compare it to more traditional solutions to a given problem. If it&#8217;s $5000, he will say that the price is really nothing because of the new lifestyle you&#8217;re getting.</p>
<p>The rule of thumb: <strong>Put any price tag you want on your product</strong> and then say that it&#8217;s cheap anyway.</p>
<p align="center">{BACK TO REALITY MARKER}</p>
<p>Okay, it&#8217;s time to get back to the real world. The above 9 practices are actually more common than you&#8217;d think is reasonable. Hundreds and hundreds of new marketers use these every day. Really, everyone who&#8217;s new to internet marketing gets an immediate impression that this is the way to do business.</p>
<p>So please, don&#8217;t jump on the bandwagon too. You&#8217;re better than this.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A while ago, I received an email from a man by the name of Aldo Baker. He was promoting an infographic titled &#8220;The Modern Marketer: Part Artist, Part Scientist&#8221; and asking me whether I&#8217;d be willing to share it with you through my site.</p>
<p>Although 99% of such email gets an automatic &#8220;no&#8221; or, more often, no answer at all, this one got me thinking. Is online business art or science? Or maybe, a little bit of both?</p>
<p>First of all, let me give credit where credit&#8217;s due; here&#8217;s <a href="http://blogs.salesforce.com/company/2013/04/the-modern-marketer-part-artist-part-scientist-infographic.html" >the infographic</a> that Aldo wanted me to share (so mission accomplished, Aldo):</p>

<p>Now let&#8217;s answer the main three questions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Are you an artist? Or</li>
<li>Are you a scientist?</li>
<li>And finally: Which is best?</li>
</ul>
<h2>The concept of twofold nature</h2>
<p>Actually, this concept of twofold nature is commonly known in the business world; mostly when we&#8217;re dealing with partnerships where two co-founders build a company together.</p>
<p>I think that this happens naturally rather than as a deliberate arrangement. But as it turns out, many partnerships consists of two completely different personas: <strong>the creator</strong> and <strong>the person that gets shit done</strong> (or at least tries to get it done).</p>
<p>The creator is the creative mind (duh) of the business. They have a lot of ideas, a lot of new projects on their mind, a lot of new ways to expand the business and so on.</p>
<p>The executor is the person who takes it upon themselves to turn ideas into an actual reality. They are the ones with some kind of methodology, with a productivity system, with tactics and so on.</p>
<p>Such partnerships are often much more effective than one-person businesses. The interesting thing is that venture capitalists seem to have understood this a long time ago. Quite frankly, if you&#8217;re looking for some funds, you are more likely to get it if you have a co-founder. As it turns out, it&#8217;s a lot easier to succeed if you have two sides of the spectrum of personas covered &#8211; the creator and the executor, or in other words, the artist and the scientist.</p>
<p>So, which are you? You must be able to determine your persona especially if you&#8217;re running a business on your own.</p>
<h2>Are you an artist?</h2>
<p>Before I can attempt to tell you which persona is best, let&#8217;s list some symptoms of each &#8220;condition.&#8221; Therefore, you might be an artist if you:</p>
<ul>
<li>focus on what to do,</li>
<li>like to list the opportunities,</li>
<li>tend to brainstorm <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/the-1st-rule-of-bs/">hundreds of ideas</a> all at the same time,</li>
<li>like to get into every new project on the horizon,</li>
<li>like to get into every new promotional method,</li>
<li>like to join every new social media site,</li>
<li>prefer to act on impulse,</li>
<li>like creating new content,</li>
<li>enjoy reaching out to new contacts,</li>
<li>feel a bit unorganized at some times,</li>
<li>prefer to work at different times of the day when you&#8217;re in the zone,</li>
<li>get a lot of inspiration from regular everyday activities,</li>
<li>like to consume content (posts, advice, books, etc.),</li>
<li>buy things because you like them.</li>
</ul>
<p>There&#8217;s probably a million more traits like these, but I guess we can stop here and switch to the other persona.</p>
<h2>Are you a scientist?</h2>
<p>You might be a scientist if you:</p>
<ul>
<li>focus on how to do things,</li>
<li>like to execute on one opportunity at a time,</li>
<li>tend to break down individual ideas in detail,</li>
<li>like to finish projects you&#8217;re already a part of before getting into new ones,</li>
<li>like to test and examine the promotional methods you have,</li>
<li>like to master social media sites one by one,</li>
<li>prefer to act based on data,</li>
<li>like measuring the efficiency of content,</li>
<li>enjoy growing existing relationships,</li>
<li>feel too organized at some times,</li>
<li>prefer to work on a fixed schedule even if running your own business,</li>
<li>get a lot of inspiration from how others do they work (mentors, peer, etc.),</li>
<li>like to consume only the content you need for a specific purpose,</li>
<li>buy things because you need them.</li>
</ul>
<p>Do you see the pattern? Even though the artist is not as obvious as sitting in front of a blank canvas and painting some flowers, and the scientist is not the one with the calculator, a clear picture starts to present itself.</p>
<p>To put it simply, artists in business like to think that they can only succeed if they try a thousand of different things and then see what works. Scientists like to get into just a handful of things and perfect them until they bring success.</p>
<p>So, I&#8217;m sure that by now you can choose sides&#8230;</p>
<p>Which one is it?</p>
<p><em>For me, I&#8217;m the scientist.</em></p>
<h2>Which is best?</h2>
<p>I&#8217;m really REALLY sorry for giving you this sort of answer because I know that a kitten dies whenever someone says this, but IT DEPENDS.</p>
<p>You see, the kicker is that if you&#8217;re 100% scientist or 100% artist, you <strong>are doomed to fail</strong>.</p>
<p>An artist without at least part scientist will never execute plans as effective as possible. In most cases, they will find themselves jumping from one idea to another until the end of time.</p>
<p>On the other hand, a scientist without at least part artist, will always miss new opportunities and will not be able to move on or kill a project when a better one presents itself.</p>
<p>So what to do, then? Be a <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/are-you-a-jack-of-no-trades/">Jack of all trades</a>?</p>
<p>The answer is <em>simple</em> (yet not <em>easy</em>). Here goes:</p>
<ol>
<li>Identify your persona.</li>
<li>Start researching the other persona.</li>
<li>Spend at least 25% of your time doing the things the other persona would do.</li>
</ol>
<p>For example, since I&#8217;m the scientist, I know that I have to review the list of activities for the artist and focus at least 25% of my work time doing things the artist would do.</p>
<p>Now, I have to be honest with you &#8230; this is a theoretical concept, but it seems to be an accurate one considering the fact how business partnerships work and how every investor is more likely to work with partnerships rather than solo-preneurs. Also, every business preacher says that business is both art and science, so it kind of makes sense that you should learn how to be both if you want to succeed.</p>
<p>That being said, there&#8217;s also the short path &#8211; find yourself a counter-persona and make them your business partner (probably a good topic for a separate post).</p>
<p>Anyway, what&#8217;s your opinion on this? And most importantly, are you the artist or the scientist?</p>

As you&#8217;d have guessed it, they are about SEO. To be more particular, it&#8217;s about <strong>how easy it is to screw up your site</strong>.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m sure you can see why this is highly relevant to running an online business. Quite frankly, if you mess up your reputation with Google, then you have very limited possibilities when it comes to promotion on the web. I mean, there&#8217;s still paid <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/online-business-models-advertising/">advertising</a>, social media and direct visits from guest posts, but for most businesses, the loss of Google rankings still equals a huge knockout blow.</p>

<p>To be honest, I have to admit that I was kind of getting the whole SEO game wrong. I mean, I knew the easy part, which is that <em>rankings = traffic</em>. But as it turns out, this is a big BIG simplification.</p>
<p>Mainly, rankings are not the important part in SEO. And as counterintuitive as this sounds, it is true. To find out what I&#8217;m on about I&#8217;m inviting you to the first post on the list:</p>

<p>I believe that the above is a crucial thing to understand if we want to protect ourselves from making some silly mistakes and ultimately, killing our reputation with Google.</p>
<p>Just think about it, if you don&#8217;t know what exactly you&#8217;re aiming at with SEO, then Google will likely get a grasp of your uncertainty very quickly and then penalize you for it. Well, that&#8217;s the short version of the story.</p>
<p>Next, we have a range of issues that can present themselves when you already have a plan, but you&#8217;re starting to overkill on the execution, so to speak.</p>
<p>As it turns out, it&#8217;s very easy to over-optimize a site. I, for example, have done it repeatedly in the past year or so. All it takes is just this one new SEO automation plugin, this one new nofollow link here, this one new site-wide link there and <strong>before you know it, you&#8217;re screwed</strong>. Sorry, that&#8217;s just the way it is.</p>

<p>Not every entrepreneur enjoys this fact, but a big part of growing an online business has a direct connection to SEO. And although you can outsource SEO tasks completely, I don&#8217;t think you should. Essentially, SEO is your most powerful method of promotion and often the thing that defines your <em>online being</em>. Having at least some control over it gives you the ability to take action in case something unpredictable happens, hence, the importance of education and learning the basics of SEO at the least.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We all want to grow our online businesses or take them to the next level, as some people like to call it. But sometimes it&#8217;s easy to get caught up in the process and start doing things that do more harm than good (at least in the long run).</p>
<p>First of all, I should probably explain one thing. The issues listed here are not bad practices per se. The only problem is that it&#8217;s really <strong>really</strong> easy to overdo them and end up with the opposite effect than we were hoping for. Onwards then!</p>

<h2>1. Promotion driven email lists</h2>
<p>Having an email list is fine. Even sending out occasional promotion is fine. But making your EVERY email a promotion of some sort isn&#8217;t fine at all.</p>
<p>And even if you&#8217;re focused on providing value and being informative, it&#8217;s really easy to fall into the dark side by accident. For example, many online entrepreneurs tend to send emails where the first part (like a couple of paragraphs) provides one specific advice, but the rest of the email promotes some (usually) affiliate offer. Such an email is still promotion-driven because if it wasn&#8217;t for the promotion part of the email, it would have never been sent.</p>
<p>If you do too much of it, eventually, your audience will pick up on what you&#8217;re trying to do and leave.</p>
<h2>2. Buying every crap-product out there</h2>
<p>I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;re on some email lists yourself, so you know how much stuff there is on the market. These are mostly digital products or various online courses or online curses as I like to call them.</p>
<p>Again, it&#8217;s quite easy to get tricked into buying some BS just because many marketers promote it at the same time. That&#8217;s what the whole idea of a product launch is about &#8211; to make the product ultra attractive and almost irresistible.</p>
<p>My rule is this, if I see something that the whole internet promotes at the same day, I never buy it. Real quality products don&#8217;t need that over-hype to sell.</p>
<h2>3. Thinking your audience is an audience of beginners</h2>
<p>This is a popular misconception online. For instance, why would you think that people coming to your site have never been exposed to the beginner topics in your niche and that you are the entry point? The fact is that most beginners find out about some niche or field of interest on one of the major sites. And that&#8217;s because they have the most coverage.</p>
<p>Now, I&#8217;m probably guilty here too, so you&#8217;re not alone.</p>
<p>I mean, you can still talk to beginners but you can be pretty sure that you are not the entry point.</p>
<h2>4. Identifying with your site way too much</h2>
<p>Don&#8217;t you find it funny that whenever you try to talk with some people, when they introduce they say something like &#8220;I&#8217;m so and so, from somedomain.com&#8221;? I mean, really? Is that a part of your identity?</p>
<p>Having some attachment is always cool but being overly attached can prevent you from noticing other possibilities. Like, for example, if someone reaches out to you and offers you a six-figure deal for taking over your business.</p>
<p>I guess the main advice is this: Your online business<strong> is a business</strong>, where business is the keyword, so don&#8217;t treat it too personally.</p>
<h2>5. Doing the same shit</h2>
<p>We all like to think that we are unique, but are we? Are we really doing something absolutely unique in our niches? Or maybe we&#8217;re just yet another look-alike business?</p>
<p>Essentially, finding out for sure is not easy but there are some indicators. For example, consider answering these:</p>
<ul>
<li>Do you need to explain to people why you are unique or is it visible right away?</li>
<li>Are you doing business in a certain way because someone told you to do it that way and you&#8217;ve been following this advice since then?</li>
<li>Are you using these words in your marketing: unique, one of a kind or innovative? (Hint, businesses that really do something innovative don&#8217;t need to use these words; at least not all the time.)</li>
</ul>
<p>I think that&#8217;s it for my short list. Initially, I also wanted to include over-twittering (relying way too much on Twitter) but I&#8217;ve decided that it&#8217;s a whole different ballgame and should probably be left alone for now.</p>

<p>And it&#8217;s not like I&#8217;m discovering a secret here, everybody who&#8217;s been around for more than a couple of months knows this.</p>
<p>Also not surprisingly, there&#8217;s an awful amount of advice available for people who want to learn about creating content. However, is &#8220;advice&#8221; really what we need to get off the ground and build our online presence?<span id="more-1877"></span></p>
<p>In my opinion, single pieces of advice can only help us once we have some pillar or structured knowledge in this area in which we can always include additional information here and there. But when we&#8217;re just starting out, there&#8217;s not much we can actually do with a cool piece of <em>advice on how to achieve X with our content</em>.</p>
<p>For example, content creation is never as simple as just preparing coffee, sitting in front of your computer, jotting down some lines of text just like that and then hitting the publish button and hoping for the best. I mean, <strong>I tried it and it didn&#8217;t work</strong>. What you need is a lot more thought put into the whole process.</p>
<p>For instance, consider answering the following questions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Why do you even want to publish content?</li>
<li>What&#8217;s your strategy?</li>
<li>Do you have any work methodology?</li>
<li>What&#8217;s your take on the niche you&#8217;re in?</li>
<li>Why do you think people would choose tuning in to your content over others?</li>
</ul>
<p>I know that these questions seem basic. Wherever you look, there&#8217;s always someone who tries to tell you that knowing all these <em>is crucial</em> for some reason. And let me tell you that I had my doubts too. So when I first got started with websites and blogs, I decided to simply write about the things I knew without giving it any actual thought regarding the &#8220;reason why&#8221; and &#8220;how&#8221; I want to do this. <strong>The result was simple: nothing.</strong></p>
<p>Some of my posts got popular, others didn&#8217;t, but it never led to anything. Only when I began paying attention to the overall picture is when things started happening.</p>
<p>Not to bore you anymore with my story, let&#8217;s get straight down to business.</p>
<p>Currently, I&#8217;m creating a number of resource/hub pages on this site &#8211; hubs that take one specific skill (or area of expertise) and explain it from start to bottom in an easy-to-grasp way. If you know me then you&#8217;re aware that <strong>I&#8217;m a big fan of healthy living</strong> and being in shape in general. And by <em>healthy living</em> I don&#8217;t actually mean being a vegetarian or any of that BS. My rules are simple, (1) exercise, (2) drink yerba mate, (3) eat a lot of dead animals, and (4) enjoy your life.</p>
<p>But why am I even telling you this? The thing is that <strong>being an entrepreneur is not the healthiest profession</strong> out there. Most business people are usually stressed out and think that they don&#8217;t have time to be healthy (as silly as this might sound).</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why today I want to take a break from the usual business-advice-driven post and focus on something that&#8217;s probably <strong>even more important</strong> than our businesses themselves &#8211; our health. Yes, I really think that way. If I had to choose between my health and my business, I would go for my health with no hesitation.</p>

<h2>Enter Matthew</h2>
<p>Entrepreneurs are known for their challenging and innovative approaches not only when they launch a business venture but also when they want to solve an everyday problem. Once they perceive an opportunity, they position themselves in a way that brings them big results from small efforts &#8211; a condition called &#8220;leverage.&#8221;<span id="more-1870"></span></p>
<p>Obesity in the US has reached 30%. That means, 1 out of 3 entrepreneurs is obese. When it comes to losing unnecessary weight, <strong>knowledge is the biggest leverage</strong>. One of the biggest problems most people have with weight loss plans is that they are difficult and confusing to follow. And for this reason, many people get frustrated and give up which only leads to further weight gain.</p>
<p>But entrepreneurs look for simple, easy everyday things anyone can do to lose weight. They will stay way from unpractical, unproven, difficult to follow <a href="http://www.weightlosstriumph.com/best-weight-loss-programs-and-diet-plans.html">diet programs</a> that have little leverage. Instead, they have identified methods that have been scientifically proven to work; methods that give big results for small efforts. This gives them the motivation and incentive to achieve their weight loss goal.</p>
<p>Here are five of the easiest ways to lose weight that appeal to the entrepreneurial mind:</p>
<h2>1. Put The Right Images in Front of You</h2>
<p>Images are not only <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/images-in-blog-posts/">for blog posts</a>. Entrepreneurs believe in the power of images. They use images to help their mind focus on what they want to achieve because images can direct our thoughts. And since our life moves towards the direction of our predominant thoughts, entrepreneurs use the right images to get to where they want to go.</p>
<p>Have you ever noticed how hungry you become after looking at a picture of food or watching a food commercial on television? Well, there is a good reason for this. The blood levels of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghrelin">hormone ghrelin</a>, which affects appetite and the physical process of food metabolism, increase when you look at images of food.</p>
<p>Researchers at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry observed that when people were exposed to images of food, the amount of ghrelin increased in their blood. The hormone did not increase when people were exposed to images of non-edible objects. The bottom line-turn off the television and avoid magazines or periodicals that are heavy on the food articles and advertisements if you are trying to lose or maintain your weight.</p>
<p>Get the right images in front of you! Put a picture of a lean, muscular guy on your refrigerator and visualize you are this person, and your life will start moving there effortlessly.</p>
<h2>2. Start Big</h2>
<p>If you have read Dr. David J. Schwartz&#8217;s all-time best seller book &#8220;The magic of thinking big&#8221; you know that in order to attain great success you need to <a href="http://newinternetorder.com/starting-an-online-business/">start with a big thinking</a>. Expect success. Set unrealistic goals. Realistic goals are not that motivating. When I started my online venture I set my first goal at $5,000/month. That was way more than my 9-5 job was paying me at that time. I achieved my goal and moved beyond that.</p>
<p>How does this relate to your diet? Should you start your day &#8220;thinking big&#8221; about food? Yes, you can eat cake, cookies or a doughnut for breakfast and still lose weight. How is this possible? Researchers from Tel Aviv University discovered that starting your day with a big breakfast, that includes dessert, a healthy serving of protein, and carbohydrates, can help people lose weight.</p>
<p>The study divided 193 obese people into two diet groups. Both groups were given the same amount of calories each day. However, one group was given a low-carb 300-calorie breakfast while the other group ate a big 600-calorie breakfast high in protein and carbs, which always included a dessert (cookies, cake, or chocolate). Participants who ate the big breakfast with the dessert lost on average 40 lbs more than the low-calorie breakfast group over the course of the 8-month study.</p>
<p>By indulging in the morning when your metabolism is most active, you have the rest of the day to work off these extra calories, explains Prof. Jakubowicz. One of the biggest problems people face when trying to lose weight is that they crave carbs and big meals. If you start your day with a big breakfast you do not have to worry about that.</p>

<h2>3. The Chocolate Business</h2>
<p>&#8220;<a href="http://www.secondact.com/2012/02/theres-no-business-like-chocolate-business/">There is no business like the chocolate business</a>&#8221; says report Jeanette Hurt of <em>SecondAct.com</em> describing the inspiring stories of 3 chocolate-entrepreneurs. And some of you may have heard of <a href="http://postcards.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2011/12/12/katrina-markoff-chocolate-entrepreneur/">Katrina Markoff</a>, Vosges Haut-Chocolat&#8217;s founder, known as the most avant-garde chocolate entrepreneur, who started her company when she realized the need to innovate in chocolate.</p>
<p>Well, when it comes to weight loss, do you know of any diet that would allow you to eat chocolate? Probably not. Sounds outrageous huh? (Think: &#8220;<a href="http://newinternetorder.com/79-great-headlines/">Announcing The Chocolate Pie Diet</a>&#8220;). After all, chocolate is full of sugar and fat, and will make you fat, correct? Well, quite the opposite. Scientists from the University of California at San Diego asked 1017 people how often they consume chocolate. They discovered that those who ate chocolate at least twice a week had a lower BMI (Body Mass Index, a metric that shows how overweight you are) than the non-chocolate eaters.</p>
<p>Interestingly, it was the frequency rather than the amount of chocolate consumed that predicted a lower BMI. Other studies have linked chocolate to lower cardiovascular mortality. Researchers believe that the antioxidant effect of a polyphenol called epicatechin contained in chocolate helps you burn fat and increase muscle mass. This is good news for chocolate lovers all over the world.</p>
<h2>4. Lean Thinking</h2>
<p>When it comes to building businesses, entrepreneurs understand the concept of &#8220;<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743249275/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0743249275&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=freestyle09-20" rel="nofollow">lean thinking</a>&#8220;<img style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" alt="" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=freestyle09-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0743249275" width="1" height="1" border="0" /> described in Womack&#8217;s and Tones&#8217; book. It is the application of value-based strategies that aim to create more value for customers while minimizing waste.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the implementation of Pareto&#8217;s Law of 80/20. Eliminate 80% of your activities, which produce only 20% of the desired results. Similarly, strengthen and multiply the 20% of your activities, which are responsible for 80% of the desired results. When it comes to losing weight, &#8220;lean&#8221; means eating more protein. You have undoubtedly heard many times how important eating protein is-especially after a workout.</p>
<p>But there is much scientific proof as to why eating more protein is a great way to lose weight. Several recent studies have shown that a high protein diet (one that provides up to 35% of calories from protein) leads to lower energy intake. While researchers do not have a definitive answer as to why this happens, there is evidence that replacing fat with protein has a satiating effect and therefore decreases the risk of weight gain.</p>
<h2>5. Green Coffee &#8211; an Emerging Weight Loss Business</h2>
<p>It&#8217;s fascinating to watch a business idea unfolding before your eyes. A few months ago (Spring 2012), Dr. Joe Vinson discovered that unroasted green coffee beans reduce body fat, an effect he attributed to a substance called chlorogenic acid.</p>
<p>When coffee is roasted, the acid breaks down so it has no weight loss effect. But consuming coffee beans in their natural state results in weight loss even if there is no change in one&#8217;s eating or exercise habits.</p>
<p>The study participants lost nearly 10% of their body weight and 16% of their body fat during the twenty-two week study period. The interesting part is that today two companies are selling green coffee capsules under their label already. And while more research on the exciting weight loss effect of green beans is still pending, the &#8220;green coffee&#8221; business idea is facing a promising future as it is perfectly positioned to offer the highly desired inexpensive, safe and easy weight loss that 30% of the population is craving for.</p>
